I wouldn&amp;#39;t say Ranch is &amp;quot;bad&amp;quot;, but it is wise to have rational amounts of it because it is higher in fat. Whoever told you that you cannot have you a certain food is robbing you of your food-joy. For the type of salad that you described, if it were me, I would do olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper. Or, a concotion of olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, and pepper. The only thing I measure in the kitchen is oil. It is a crucial flavor enhancer, but at the same time, I hate to say that it this way, but it is easy to go overboard with it.
